Information recently released but The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) states what we as Chiropractors have known for years. Chiropractic treatment for back pain, no matter how severe, shows a significantly higher rate of full recovery versus going through invasive back surgery or taking habit forming drugs. The study referenced concentrated on back injuries in workers hurt on the job and released shocking statistics on how unnecessary back surgery may actually be.
A statement on the NCBI website says, when back pain patients saw a back surgeon first, they were 42.7% more likely to go through with back surgery as means of treatment. Compare that number to only 1.5% of patients who first saw a chiropractor.
So this information just backs up what we have been saying for years here at Pivonka Chiropractic in Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Queen Creek and Apache Junction. Chiropractic does a better job that invasive back surgery or habit forming pain medication. According to the NCBI more than 98% of patients seeking Chiropractic care experienced a significant reduction or complete elimination of their back pain and had no need to seek a back surgeon.
Regardless of what back surgeons have been trained to do or say, surgery is not the best answer and it should not be the first choice.
The 118 year old science of Chiropractic has helped countless numbers of Americans avoid back surgery through non-invasive treatments. This is not something that back surgeons are proud to admit. So the question remains, why put yourself under the knife when all that is necessary is seeking care from Pivonka Chiropractic in Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Queen Creek and Apache Junction.
